Here are the Hartford Public Schools ‘Teacher of the Year’ nominees || Super Admin

The Hartford Public Schools system revealed more than 30 candidates for the city's 2023 Teacher of the Year honor.

The 37 instructors were nominated by their colleges for their "exceptional work in service of our trainees," the district announced.

Tenured instructors that educate pre-kindergarten via grade 12 in the Hartford Public Schools system are eligible for the award. The area tries to find candidates who "show exemplary mentor skills, show commitment to the belief that all kids can find out, and are energetic in neighborhood as well as altruistic events," according to a declaration on the program.

In 2014's Educator of the Year was awarded to Renee Sherriffs, a special education teacher at Expeditionary Learning Academy at Moylan Institution.

This years candidates are Brenna Casey from Annie Fisher STEM Magnet Institution; John Maziarz from Betances Understanding Laboratory Magnet College; Andrea Hamilton from Betances STEM Magnet College; Danielle Laperche from Development Magnet College North; Meagan Pastre from Development Magnet Institution South; Casey Cunningham from Bulkeley Senior High School; Josephine Bautista from Burns Latino Studies Academy; as well as Elida Muchollari from Burr Institution.

All the candidates will undergo a screening and also meeting process with the district-wide Educator of the Year Committee, which is comprised of directors from the college area, officials from the Hartford Federation of Teachers as well as previous award victors.

The committee will choose three finalists, who will certainly each be asked to complete a series of written essay inquiries and also submit a videotaped lesson for the final evaluation. The champion will certainly be introduced at an awards event on May 25.
